Organizations build walls. I understand it’s important to have a place for people to go to work, meet and build collegiate working synergy. However, with the Internet, mobile and other interactive technologies, we at PlanningWorks want to help organizations get out of those boxes – so to speak — and open their doors to constituent engagement. I wish there was more awareness within organizations of what they can accomplish by building extensions -- becoming more transparent, and letting loyal constituents create content, do research or whatever they can on behalf of the organization. I admit it takes some education about what can happen, deciding what tasks should be offered to volunteers and then trusting that more work can be done by good people. This is one way to build a committed, engaged constituency. We can design a plan for your organization to do that.
